Short: Creates Mac 1.44 DiskImages (Amiga and PC) Author: grob@prl.philips.nl (Robert Grob) Uploader: grob prl philips nl (Robert Grob) Type: misc/emu Version: 1.0 Architecture: m68k-amigaos MacDiskImage v1.0 Set of tools to read/write 1.44 Mb Mac Floppies on a PC and convert them to diskimages which can be used on Macintosh emulators on DD-drive equipped Amigas or real DD-drive equipped Macs. Since most Amiga computers do not have HD floppiedrives as standard (except for the A4000), we have a problem using Macintosh software which comes on HD Disks. We could use a Mac to convert 1.44 Hd disks to an image and store them on 720K disks, but we need a mac to do that. A lot of us (including me) don't have access to a mac, but do have access to PC's. (There are a lot of them, really... ;) MacImg together with Gspoin and ConvImage (all included) will do the job as fast as possible. The image can be written in an Macbinary FAKE encoded Apple Diskcopy image. It is not really a DiskCopy image, it is more a kind of a hack. You will need MountImage (Freeware from Apple) AND DiskCopy (Freeware from Apple) AND DiskDup+ 2.7 (Registered or unregistered, Shareware) to make it a 100% image which can be mounted using MountImage. Detailed information is given in the Session.doc I have successfully installed Symantec C++ 7.0 (6 disks) and several Mac Format coverdisks, all without errors, on a ShapeShifter equipped Amiga. The image can also be written in RAW format. In this way the file can be mounted as a filedisk. On the PC: Macimg reads a Mac 1.44 Disk and writes it to a (splitted) file. The fileparts are copied directly to disk. On the Amiga: GSpoin will rebuild the imagefile from 720K floppies on the Mac side (Using Mac:). ConvImage can convert the image between a raw and MacBinary encoded format. Needed tools summary: PC: - MacIMG.exe (included in this archive) Amiga: - GSpoin (included in this archive) - CrossDos (pc0: etc..) (included with Amiga OS 2.1+) - A Mac emulator with an amiga-side accessible partition or filedisk. For example Mac: when using ShapeShifter. Mac: - Unstuffit 3.51 or MacBinary (For decoding macbin) - Mountimage 1.2B1 (Mount the fileimage) - DiskDup+ 2.7 (Making a correct checksum of the Fake-image so Apple DC can read it) ) - Apple Diskcopy 4.2 (Making a 100% FileImage) (All NOT included in this archive) Handy (not necessary) tools: PC: - Gspoin.exe - ConvIMG.exe Amiga: - ConvIMG (All included in this archive, see docs) Have Fun and remember, there's more than just computers! : You may want have a look at this: http://www.linknet.it/Spirit.html (Changed MY life!)
