Power Onyx is one of the fastest graphic workstations ever made. This machine had 4 CPUs RISC R8000 (expandable up to 8 CPUs), 512 MB of memory (8 times interleaved), throughput of system bus 1.2 GB/s, 32 SCSI channels, disk matrix 600 GB, most advanced graphics system Reality Engine 2 - 1024 bits/pixel, resolution 1600x1200, 160MB frame buffer, all gfx operations done in hardware. SGI workstations are used in Polish army for advanced simulations. Machine from the picture is over 150 cm height. In the middle there is an LCD display showing overload for each CPU.
