Read the documentation, see: http://www.exim.org/docs.html Edit /usr/pkg/etc/exim/configure to taste. 2. Edit /usr/pkg/etc/exim/aliases to taste (or override it with the default /etc/aliases system file). 3. Back-up /etc/mailer.conf to /etc/mailer.conf.sendmail. Copy /usr/pkg/share/examples/exim/mailer.conf to /etc/mailer.conf. 4. If sendmail (or postfix) is running, stop the daemons: run '/etc/rc.d/sendmail stop' and '/etc/rc.d/smmsp stop'. 5. In /etc/rc.conf set 'sendmail=NO', 'smmsp=NO', 'exim=YES' and exim_flags to some sane value (for example "-bd -q15m"). Copy /usr/pkg/share/examples/rc.d/exim to /etc/rc.d. 6. Run '/etc/rc.d/exim start' to start the daemon. 7. Configuring log rotation is dependent on personal taste and the version of NetBSD in use. See weekly.conf(5), newsyslog(8), exicyclog and eximstats. Also note: 1. Try `pkg_info exim` to see which features are enabled in this build. 2. Consider enabling SSL (STARTTLS) for receiving mail in your config. This build automatically uses SSL when sending mail. ===========================================================================
